In 2018, Meng Wanzhou, Huawei chief financial officer, was detained (拘留) by the Canadian authorities even though she didn’t break any Canadian law. US judicial authorities (司法机关) had asked for the detention, saying that Huawei had broken US’ sanctions (制裁) on Iran.
