In 2016, researchers studied a rare cockroach species called the Pacific beetle, which gives birth to live babies and feeds them milk containing special protein crystals. “The crystals are like a complete food - they have proteins, fats and sugars,” Sanchari Banerjee, the co-author of the study, explained to the Times of India. “If you look into the protein sequences (序列), they have all the essential amino acids (氨基酸).”
