A newly discovered insect species in southwestern China has gone viral for its name. Officially named Nemoura hugekootinlokorum (胡古叉襀), the species has been named after actors Hu Ge and Louis Koo Tin-lok (古天乐). It was to show appreciation for their contributions to education and environmental preservation in the mountainous areas of western China, according to an academic article published in the International Journal of Ecology in February. Both of them have been involved in charities in western provinces involving donating money to build many primary schools. However, the two have always kept a low profile throughout the years and seldom talk about their charitable (慈善的) work publicly.
