Can you imagine a song debuting (首播) in outer space? The British rock band Coldplay has given it a try. On May 7, during a video linkup, Coldplay connected with French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who is on board the International Space Station, for their otherworldly premiere of their new song, Higher Power. Pesquet became the first person to listen to the track. “We are right now able to imagine alien worlds as a way of saying what we think about life on Earth,” explained Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay. “This is the premiere for the whole ... galaxy. The song is about trying to find the astronauts in all of us, the person who can do amazing things,” he added, according to Agence France-Presse. To celebrate this special debut and raise funds to help save Earth, the band produced a special mission patch (方案). All proceeds (收益) from its sale will be donated to ClientEarth, an environmental law charity that uses the law to help protect the planet, the website Space reported.
