China’s Mars rover (火星车) Zhurong had spent 100 days exploring the Red Planet’s surface (表面) as of Aug 30, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA). Zhurong first set its wheels on Martian (火星的) soil on May 22. By Aug 30, it had traveled 1,064 meters on the surface of Mars. But the rover won’t be able to communicate with Earth in mid-to-late September because of solar radiation (太阳辐射). The rover will stop working until communication is able to start again in November.
