Lewandowski stays in the game

Robert Lewandowski claimed his first European Golden Shoe on Sept 21. The award is given to the top goalscorer that season every year. The Polish striker scored 41 goals in 29 matches for Bayern Munich, surpassing (超过) the previous record held by the legendary Gerd Mueller in the 1971-72 season by one goal. Lewandowski is at an age when players traditionally call time on their careers due to weakening physical and mental capabilities. But he is still peaking in his 30s with “elite mentality (心理状态) and finely tuned physique (体格)”, Bundesliga website commented. “Thirty-three is just a number. For me, it doesn’t show how old I really am,” Lewandowski told Sport Bild magazine. “I’m certain that I can keep playing for at least four more years. After that we’ll see how I’m feeling and how long my career can last.”
