Over the years, China has been taking large steps toward tackling (应对) climate change on a global scale. And at the recent general debate of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the country once again stepped up. On Sept 21, President Xi Jinping announced that China will no longer build new coal-fired power projects abroad. The announcement won praise across the world, China Daily reported.
