Meet the official mascot (官方吉祥物) of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup: Tazuni! She is a soccer-loving penguin with a symbolic blue tuft (一簇) of hair. As the event will take place in Australia and New Zealand, Tazuni is based on a species (物种) that only live in these two countries. The name Tazuni is a combination of her home – the Tasman Sea – and “unity (团结)”, a key idea of the event. It’s hoped Tazuni can play an important role in the event and inspire young people.
