Crabs crossing the road: As the first rain of the wet season begins on Christmas Island in Australia, millions of red crabs emerge from the forest to head toward the water. This usually happens in October or November, but can sometimes be as late as December or January. These crabs make their way over bridges and across roads, rocks and streams to reach the shore in time to breed (繁殖). There are so many crabs that they often cause traffic jams. IC
