South Korean company Petnow is the creator of the Petnow app. It brought out the world’s first cat biometric recognition (生物识别) service to its app in late February at the 2023 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The service is powered by AI and can recognize dogs through their nose prints, which carry similar identifying traits (识别特征) as human fingerprints (指纹). Cat lovers don’t need to worry, however, as the system can also recognize cats through their unique (独特的) faces. It will “help more pet households reunite (团聚) with their beloved pets in case they go missing,” Jesse Lim, the founder of Petnow, told Yahoo.
