On April 30, 2019, the US National Academy of Sciences announced the election results for its new members. There were 100 native members and 25 foreign associates (院士). Yan Ning, a 42-year-old Chinese professor of molecular biology (分子生物学) at Princeton University, was one of the foreign associates.
