Preventing sandstorms: On May 14, students from Guyuan No 2 Middle School in Ningxia went to a local desert (沙漠). There, students learned how to plant straw (麦草). It’s a useful way to hold down the sand and prevent sandstorms (预防沙尘暴). The school hopes that students can learn about sand control and nature protection.  XINHUA
