Iris Apfel, a 102-year-old fashion icon from the United States, marked her birthday on Instagram on Aug 29. Apfel often describes herself as “the world’s oldest living teenager”. But it was not until 2005, when her collection shocked the New York fashion world during an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, that she gained widespread attention. That year, Apfel was already 84 years old. “My first big job in fashion came when I was 84, so as cliche (陈词滥调) as it is, age is just a number to me,” she told InStyle magazine.
