People celebrated International Literacy Day (国际扫盲日) on Sept 8. In simple terms, literacy can be described as the ability to read and write. According to UNESCO, literacy is “part of a larger set of skills, which include digital skills, media literacy, education for sustainable development and global citizenship”.
