On Oct 15, China’s team got 5th place at the Youth Baseball5 World Cup in Ankara, Turkiye. Baseball5 is a shorter and simpler version of baseball. The Baseball5 World Cup is a mixed-gender (男女混合的) event held every two years. This year’s event started on Oct 10 and ended with Cuba’s team becoming the champions on Oct 15. Baseball5 is an official event at the Youth Olympic Games. In China, however, it’s still a niche event. The Dominican Republic, Japan and the US are dominant teams in the baseball world.
