Video captions aid language learning
本文作者: 21ST
Watching videos has long been regarded as a good way to learn a new language. Many teachers tend to advise students to watch videos without captions. For teachers, subtitles might overwhelm learners new to a language, potentially burdening them with excessive information. Moreover, captions could impede the development of listening skills for those who become overly reliant on reading the on-screen text. However, these views are being challenged by recent research findings published in the journal System.
