This marks a significant increase from 3.27 percent in 2010. It’s noteworthy that improvements have been made in reducing regional, gender (性别), and urban-rural imbalances, indicating substantial progress in enhancing scientific literacy across the country. According to the institute, the development of scientific literacy in China has emphasized cultivating a scientific way of thinking, employing scientific methods, and promoting a scientific spirit.
