Hong Kong actor and director Stephen Chow’s first mini-drama series Take Me Home (《金猪玉叶》) was released on Douyin on June 2. It quickly gained huge popularity, receiving over 1 million views within an hour. The plot focuses on online scams (欺诈), workplace injustice (不公) and other hot topics, such as Japan’s  nuclear-contaminated water (核污染水) and shooting incidents in the US. This series has received polarized reviews. Some expressed their disappointment, saying the show totally “has nothing to do with Stephen Chow”. However, some praised its quality and irony (讽刺), believing it’s on par with (与……水平相当) a movie.
