Peeking into the future: The 2025 World Expo kicked off on April 13 in the Japanese city of Osaka. Under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, the expo will run for six months, with more than 160 countries, regions and international organizations taking part. During the event, visitors can see many amazing future technologies, such as a meteorite (陨石) from Mars, a beating “heart” grown from stem cells (干细胞) and the world’s largest wooden architectural structure. Creative buildings also take center stage at the expo. The design of the Chinese pavilion (馆) brings to mind a traditional calligraphy scroll (卷轴).
