Airbnb, a short-term rental platform (短租平台), recently launched a new feature called Airbnb Services. Starting May 13, users can pay for hotel-like services, such as chef-cooked meals, in 260 cities around the world. This move aims to attract more users, reported The Washington Post. According to the BBC, Airbnb is facing challenges in cities like Barcelona, Spain, where short-term rentals are being limited. Some experts believe these rentals make the housing crisis worse by using up housing resources and raising prices. However, a 2024 study by Harvard Business Review found that the real causes are tight (紧张的) housing markets and building limits, rather than short-term rentals alone.
