Robots in retail: A humanoid robot was shown at the world’s first robot 6S store in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on Nov 12. Usually, products like cars are sold with the 4S model: sale, spare parts, service and surveys. But this 6S store adds two more features: renting and making customized (定制的) robots, as reported by Xinhua. This makes it easier for robots to move from labs to real-life roles, like performing at events or helping out in emergencies. It also lets scientists see how useful robots are and gather data for future research. Since opening in July, the store has teamed up with over 25 robot companies, including Unitree Robotics.
