On Dec 24, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that the number of tourists visiting Egypt in 2025 reached 18.8 million, an increase of 25.3 percent compared to the previous year. Tourism remains a key part of the government’s development plan, with a target of 30 million tourists by 2030. The Grand Egyptian Museum, which opened on Nov 1, 2025, receives an average of about 15,000 visitors per day.
