　　THE 26th Annual Thailand TESOL International Conference will be held January 19 to 21, 2006, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The theme of the conference is "Teaching, Learning, Researching: Three Pillars of TESOL". It aims to provide English educators with the opportunity to explore in greater detail the links between language teaching, learning and researching, including contemporary approaches to curriculum and syllabus design, teaching methodology and learning tasks and activities.

　　Thailand TESOL Organization of English Teachers organizes the conference. Thailand TESOL, or ThaiTESOL for short, is a professional non-profit and non-political organization. Its purposes are to strengthen English language education at all levels, to undertake research in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages, to offer scholarships, to disseminate information and to cooperate in appropriate ways with other groups having similar concerns. ThaiTESOL organizes seminars and workshops on a regular basis and holds an annual international conference. Its members are people who are concerned with the teaching of English to speakers of other languages at any educational level. They are from all over Thailand and the world.

　　This conference will specifically target the following areas: teacher education and development; curriculum development and syllabus design; innovative approaches toward learner-centredness; accelerated learning and creative methodology; new ways of teaching vocabulary and grammar through integrated programme designs; content-based, text-based and genre-based material preparation and programming; authentic assessment schemes; classroom-based action research projects; IT applications; innovation and leadership in ELT. Approximately 1000 ELT teachers and educators from Thailand, the Asia Pacific region and many other regions of the international TESOL community will participate the conference.
