澳大利亚公布新草案 新移民抵澳后须学英语 THE Australian government recently released a proposed new citizens' test that would include an assessment of their English skills and knowledge of Australian history, values and customs. People seeking Australian citizenship would not necessarily have to speak English before their arrival but would have to learn it after they came, Australian Prime Minister John Howard said, explaining the draft test. 印度英文日报读者人数呈下降趋势 MOST English dailies among the top 12 in India have seen a decrease in readership compared to the last year, the 2006 Indian Readership Survey (NRS) shows. The only three dailies to have registered an increase in readership are "The Hindu" "The New Indian Express" and "Mid-day". "The Times of India" continues to hold the number one rank among English dailies with a readership of 7.502 million. However, overall it has seen a decrease in readership by 7.29 per cent from 8.092 million in 2005. |  |
