THE Oxford English Dictionary has legitimized popular words by adding colorful descriptions to its online edition, according to United Press International. Among the 1,000 entries recently announced by Editor-at-Large Jesse Sheidlower are bada-bing (suggesting "something happening suddenly, emphatically, or easily and predictably), carpet bombing and bling. "The English language changes and evolves all the time and the Oxford English Dictionary has to keep up," Sheidlower said. "Our editors are currently going through the entire alphabet bit by bit, writing new entries and revising existing ones in order to stay current."
