STARTING Monday, there is a drop in the jet fuel surcharge on domestic flights because oil prices have fallen in China. This is the first decrease since the surcharge was reintroduced in 2005. It rose twicse in 2006 when oil prices hit record highs. People flying less than 800km now pay a 50-yuan surcharge instead of 60 yuan. Those going more than 800km will pay 80 yuan.
