北京奥运会将吸引40亿电视观众
THE 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will attract nearly four billion viewers(观看者) of TV relay(电视转播) around the world, a top Olympics TV relay official has said.
“There were about three billion TV viewers for the 2004 Athens Olympics, and the 2008 figure will be a billion more than that. I believe we can achieve that goal,” Ma Guoli, chief operation officer of Beijing Olympics Dissemination Corporation Ltd.(北京奥林匹克转播有限公司首席运营官), told a forum(论坛) at a TV festival in Shanghai.
Ma said that the company will use about 65 High Definition relay vehicles(高清转播车) and 1,000 video cameras. They will also build an 80,000 square meters(平方米) broadcasting center(广播中心), and broadcast live(直播) for 3,800 hours. The company has signed contracts(签订合同) with 45 TV producers and more than 50 equipment suppliers(设备提供商) from around the world, Ma said.
The company has 180 staff members(员工) for now, and a third of them are from other countries and regions, according to Ma. “By 2008, the number will increase to 4,000 and half of them come from other parts of the world,” he said.
According to Beijing Mobile TV, workers are now busy installing a digital television system in two of the city’s subway lines. Passengers will be able to watch the games on mobile broadcasts in 56 trains on the Batong Line and 24 trains on Line 13, with six screens in each carriage.
