Q
I’m one of the top students (好学生) in my class. But I’m not happy at all. Teachers always praise1 me in front of my classmates’ parents. Then these parents set me up as a good example (把我树立为好榜样) for my classmates. Because of this, my classmates do not want to play with me anymore. How can I get along with them?

This is a tough (困难的) one! It sounds like your classmates think you are a “super2 student”! Here’s what you can do to show your classmates that you want to be their friend: Look for chances (机会) to praise your classmates. Praise them in front of your teacher, or in front of other students. Tell them “good job!” when they answer a difficult math problem. Say “That’s great!” when someone paints a beautiful picture. This will make them feel good. And this will show them that you think they are “super” too!
