S. Korea to recruit more foreign teachers 韩国教育部门计划招收608名英语外教 THE South Korean National Institute for International Education (NIIE) is recruiting 608 native English speakers as assistant teachers in public schools from next March. The NIIE, affiliated with the Ministry of Education, has been hiring, training and allocating native speakers under its “English Program in Korea (EPIK).” The EPIK plans to encourage schools to provide more guidance for native English teachers. More Malaysian pupils opting for English 马来西亚小学生英语运用能力增强 ABOUT 31 percent of Malaysian pupils who sat for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (Primary School Assessment) this year answered the questions set for the Science paper entirely in English. For the Mathematics paper, it was 46 percent. The results also showed a 4.4 percent increase in the number of pupils who scored A in English. The Malaysian Ministry of Education will carry out an in-depth analysis of the results. |  |
