Languages study still slipping at GCSE in UK 英国普通中等教育外语考试参加人数进一步减少 THE number of British students opting to study modern languages at GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) continues to slide, with French being the biggest loser. Figures showed that take-up of French had fallen by 6.8 percent this year. German fell by 5.4 percent. The slump was only partly offset by a rise of 4.9 percent in Spanish. Andrew Adonis, the Schools minister, said there was “more to be done” to encourage language learning.
