Australian girls better than boys in literacy 澳大利亚:女生平均英文读写水平高于男生 A BREAKDOWN of literacy and numeracy assessments of more than one million students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across Australia showed that girls are leading the pack in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation. In Year 3, 93.5 percent of girls were at or above the national minimum standard for reading — compared to 89.6 percent of boys. The results were similar in Year 5, 7 and 9. Of the 238 members of the House, at least 202 signed the Act Strengthening and Enhancing the Use of English as the Medium of Instruction.
