Volunteers make Olympics special
本文作者: 21ST
2008 Beijing Olympic Games would not have been so successful without the efforts of the nation's more than 1.7 million Olympic volunteers. When big sports events happen, such as the Olympics, the Asian Games and the Universiade, or international conferences and exhibitions are held, such as the Boao Asian Forum, there's usually demand (需求) for a large number of volunteers. By taking advantage (把握) of those volunteering opportunities, you could gain experience that you won't be able to get from other work. You might receive professional training before taking the job. The work is usually time-consuming and demanding. You will face a lot of unexpected situations and challenges. You're also likely to meet and get to know people from different cultural backgrounds. And when it's finished, you will feel a strong sense of achievement and be proud of yourself.
