Backyard basketball game brings a touch of nostalgia to All-Star Weekend

THREE young NBA stars took Americans back to their childhoods when they played each other in a game of "H-O-R-S-E" during the league's All-Star Weekend festivities. This traditional backyard game requires players to try difficult shots. Misses are penalized with letters from the word "horse". Once a player has collected all five letters, he is eliminated. Atlanta's Joe Johnson, Memphis' O. J. Mayo and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant – the eventual winner – tried all sorts of classic H-O-R-S-E shots, including shots from behind the goal, and long shots from the first row of the stands. Fans seemed to enjoy the show, but one change to the classic game did irk some of them. Instead of having the players spell out the word "horse", an insurance company paid to have the players spell out its name – "Geico".
