ETS launches TOEFL TV channel on YouTube ETS在YouTube网站开通托福视频频道 EDUCATIONAL Testing Service (ETS) officials recently announced the launch of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) TV on YouTube. The channel features user-generated videos created by the TOEFL TV team and other YouTube users. These include videos by teachers and students giving tips for improving English-language skills, videos by universities and other institutions that accept TOEFL scores about why they use the test, and videos by students about how they prepared for the test. Gena Netten, TOEFL Brand Manager, said teachers can incorporate these videos in their lessons as teaching tools. Foreign teachers found association in S. Korea 在韩外籍教师成立组织保护自身权益 THE Association for Teachers of English in Korea (ATEK), whose purpose is to protect the rights of some 25,000 native English-speaking teachers in South Korea, was launched recently. These teachers, mostly from Canada, New Zealand and the United States, are working in South Korea on one-year E-2 visas, which are issued to foreign language teachers. Tom Rainey-Smith, president of ATEK, said the association would be committed to protecting the rights of native English teachers and improving the quality of English education in South Korea. Currently, some 400 people have applied for membership. English law training goes online at last 剑桥大学出版社首推在线法律英语培训 CAMBRIDGE University Press, the Boston University School of Law and the Swedish language company TransLegal have launched the world’s first online English language training for the global legal community. The training targets a market of over two million lawyers around the world, who increasingly face challenges in drafting legal documents, negotiating and practicing law in English. The training course also contains preparation materials for the Cambridge International Legal English Certificate (ILEC), an internationally recognized test of Legal English. |  |
