RATAN Tata thought he was building a car for Indian families when he conceived of the Nano, which was unveiled in Mumbai, India last week with a starting price of 100,000 rupees (13,478 yuan). It turns out, however, that Tata may have more buyers than he thought: the entire Western hemisphere.
