King's legacy still alive after 41 years

NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN photos taken hours after the *assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. have been published in Life magazine 41 years later. On April 4, 1968, King was shot while standing outside his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. Later that night, after his body had been taken away, a *photojournalist was given access to his hotel room, where King's friends were mourning.
