Seattle: America's most 'European' city

YOU might be a little surprised to hear this, but there is an American city that loves its football European-style. Seattle, located in the US state of Washington, has for years seen itself as an *alternative, more internationalized American city. Young people want to live there. Some American rock music is rooted there. And football – that is, the world’s version – has a strong following. The city is embracing its new professional football club, the Seattle Sounders FC.
