AMERICAN “community colleges” aren't exactly bastions of academic excellence, to put it kindly. Oh, sure, they cost less to attend than four-year state or private institutions, but students get as much (or as little) as they pay for. The professors employed by such colleges are often outcasts from mainstream academia. And the students – let's just say Ivy League schools weren't exactly pining for their applications.
