Fewer administrators and more educators is what our colleges need

THE great rocket scientist, Qian Xuesen, who passed away earlier this month, lamented the failure of our education system, and asked why such a huge apparatus with billions spent on it and millions working hard in it couldn't produce top-notch scholars. That negative question is still ringing in the ears of Chinese education officials and university presidents.
