A Chinese Nobel Prize nominee (提名者), Lin Yutang (1895–1976) aimed to explain Chinese culture to the West. My Country and My People (《吾国吾民》) offers insights (领悟) into China and its citizens – the Chinese mind and character, customs, poetry, art, calligraphy and social institutions (制度).
