IN recent years, the number of English-language TV programs available on DVD and online has been a gift for learners. Viewers of all levels have *peeked into the “real world” of popular culture and colloquial usage. There's just one problem: These dramas aren't “real life”: they're blown up *scenarios designed to entertain. That means learners need to be careful about how they use the expressions they encounter in these programs.
