WHEN Dr Jane Goodall was a kid growing up in England, she dreamed of one day living among wild animals. That opportunity came when Goodall was 26 years old and world-famous anthropologist (人类学家) Louis S. B. Leakey asked her to study a group of chimpanzees (黑猩猩) living in Tanzania. Goodall moved to the African country and spent 25 years studying the primates (灵长类) in their natural habitat. What she learned about chimpanzees fascinated people all over the world.
