WITH obesity becoming a more serious issue in the US, Americans are becoming more aware of what they’re putting in their mouths. But more of them are eating out. According to the US National Restaurant Association, 49 percent of every food dollar in the US is spent in restaurants. That’s up from 25 percent in 1955. So, Americans have less control over just what goes into their food.
