We need less skyscrapers

XI’AN, my hometown, was the political, economic, technological and cultural center of China for 13 dynasties. You can still see the lofty (宏伟的) city walls, the magnificent bell and drum towers (钟鼓楼), showing how prosperous (繁荣的) the city was. What I dislike about the city are the skyscrapers (摩天大楼). They don’t go well with the city’s ancient architecture. I hope the government can do a better job with city planning in the future.
