Chinese Valentine's Day celebrated

A gala featuring love-themed recitations was held to mark “Chinese Valentine’s Day” on August 16, or the seventh day of the seventh lunar month in the traditional Chinese lunar calendar. Students at Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) recited classical love poems and also performed their own poems accompanied with symphonic music, titled “For China, for Love”. The gala aimed to define and celebrate traditional Chinese values regarding love, as well as engage in a broader discussion about modern definitions of love. The event was organized by China Education Television in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and BJTU.
