Humanities go under the axe

In the US, and virtually worldwide, there’s been a seismic shift in the way we look at the humanities. Public officials and university administrators are facing extreme funding shortages. As a result, they are cutting budgets for subjects like philosophy and literature. Even languages, history and the arts are not safe in these financially restricted times. Yet, the science and technology curriculum is spared.
