She had to prove she was still alive

GLADYS Malarkey of Ft. Meyers, Florida, US, may be old, but she’s not dead. Try proving that to the US government, though. At 105 years old, Gladys was accidentally declared dead by the Department of Social Security, who stopped sending her checks every month. It turns out an investigator (调查员) went to the address of a woman with the same last name as Malarkey. When neighbors told the investigator that the Malarkey who lived there died, Gladys’ Social Security checks stopped reaching her. Gladys produced her birth certificate (证书) and went to the Social Security office in person, where she was brought back from the dead.
