Patience pays out
本文作者: GABRIELLA VAN LEUVEN
A line-cutter in New York got his just deserts last month. As Mike Barth was waiting in line to buy a lottery ticket for himself and six co-workers, he leaned (弯腰) over to buy a Snickers (士力架) bar from the counter (柜台) display. While he picked up the bar, someone cut in front of him in line and bought a lottery ticket. Barth waited, keeping his anger to himself. His patience paid off, though, when he checked his lottery numbers the following Wednesday and found he’d won the $319 million (2 billion yuan) Mega Millions jackpot (彩票等头奖).
