ZHANG Jie’s honesty is being questioned following an online claim that the singer misused loyal fans’ money. Fans donated (捐赠) 1 million yuan to the 30-year-old singer so he could pay the penalty for breaching (违约) his recording contract. Zhang’s career took off once he had broken his old contract.
