ON Oct 22, Lance Armstrong was formally stripped of (正式剥夺) his seven Tour de France (环法自行车赛) titles from 1999 to 2005 for doping (服用兴奋剂). The American will also be banned from the event for life by the International Cycling Union (UCI). Armstrong, 41, was widely regarded as one of the greatest cyclists of all time. He has beaten cancer and dominated (统治) the sport for years. The issue has left the sport facing its “greatest crisis (危机)”, said UCI. |  |
